Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Thursday, October 31, 2013 – 8:00 AM
Board of Selectmen: Chairman Rob Wimpory, Selectwoman Karen Day, and Selectwoman Debra Davidson

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM by Chairman Wimpory.
Chairman Wimpory opened the meeting at 8:00 AM. The Board discussed the tax rate and decided on the use of fund balance.
On a motion by the Chair and a second by Debra Davidson, the Board voted 3-0 to use fund balance sufficient to ensure the tax rate stays the same at $6.67. The exact amount to be provided by the DRA advisor.
The Board participated in a conference call meeting with Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) advisor J. Samms. The Board requested that the DRA advisor set the local tax rate at $6.67. At the conclusion of the call the Chairman signed the fund balance commitment sheet for the DRA.
The Board discussed the tax rate and were very pleased that they were able to keep the town’s portion of the tax rate down and keep the fund balance above the minimum guidelines provided by the State. The Selectmen expressed concern about the amount of the overall tax rate, which went up in each of the other categories; County, School rate, and State School tax.
Adjournment
On a motion by Chairman Wimpory and a second by Selectwoman Davidson the Board voted to adjourn. The motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 8:50 AM
